Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Welcome to the "About Us" page, where we take you on a journey through the rich history of Raanana Baseball. Our story is one of passion, dedication, and community spirit that has spanned decades.

Late 80s: It all began in the late 80s when Raanana Baseball was founded by Leonard and Randy Kahn, a father-and-son duo with a shared love for the sport. Little did they know, this was the seed that would grow into something remarkable.

Early 90s: Raanana Baseball's early years saw the formation of the Israel Association of Baseball (IAB), which became the parent organization for not only Raanana but also numerous other cities across Israel. Together, they helped pave the way for the sport's development in the region.

Late 90s: The late 90s brought further progress as Tiva and Sam Pelter took the helm. With their leadership, the Raanana baseball field underwent substantial upgrades, including new diamonds, backstops, and irrigation systems, thanks to the tireless efforts of Bruce Maddy Weitzman, Tiva, and Sam Pelter.

2000s: As Raanana Baseball continued to thrive, Mel stepped into the role of leading the organization. He oversaw more enhancements to the field, including the addition of another baseball diamond, making it a hub for baseball enthusiasts.

January 2018: In January, it was confirmed that the old Raanana baseball field would be torn down to make way for real estate development, emphasizing the need for our new field.

August 2018: A significant turning point came in August 2018 when Raanana Baseball, with the support of the IAB, signed a contract with the Raanana municipality to construct a dedicated baseball field in the heart of Raanana. This marked a new chapter in our journey.

December 2021: The culmination of years of hard work and dedication was celebrated in December 2021 at the Ezra Schwartz dedication ceremony, held on the newly built baseball field in Raanana.

June 2022: The moment we had all been waiting for arrived in June 2022 when the Ezra Schwartz baseball field was officially opened for Raanana Baseball teams. It marked the realization of a dream and a new era for our community.

Present: Today, Meir Ginensky has taken the reins from Mel, continuing the legacy of growth and development. While it's a significant task to fill Mel's shoes, Meir is committed to giving it his all.

Throughout our history, Raanana Baseball has had the privilege of hosting key political figures like Former Mayor Zev Bielsky, Former Mayor Nachum Hofry, and Councilwoman Debbie Slutzky, who have thrown out the first pitch at games played by the Israel team on our field.

We want to express our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has been part of Raanana Baseball's journey. Your support, dedication, and love for the game have made us who we are today. We look forward to a bright future, with continued growth, development, and, most importantly, the camaraderie that defines Raanana Baseball. Thank you for being a part of our history and our future.
